Hi Lupe, happy holidays. Our salon has been discussing the equalizing solution and its many incredible uses but we were hoping you could help clarify what exactly it's doing to and in the hair. We are hair science junkies!! Also how do you explain its differences in comparison to other conditioning tools Aveda offers. Thanks!!

Congratulations! what are you loving and what do you need to get info on?  Take the Hair Color Magic Essentials 1 course soon. That would be my best advice.

The color line is amazing!!

I recently started working at an Aveda concept salon, and I graduated from Empire Beauty School, so all things Aveda are fairly new to me. I am LOVING full spectrum as a color line, it is still a little fuzzy to me, but I am getting there! Any tips or tricks would be amazing!

Jean, I had this same exact thing happen with a new client too. I asked my client what products she was using and the answer was Herbal Essences!

jean i had this happen once with shades of enlightment before elc came out. a coworker told me it was an interaction with a medication and something in the high lift color. she had taken a class that went over drug interactions with color so i took her word for it. anyway, i've never had a problem with using permanent color to lift OR enlightener. only shades/elc!

She uses herbal essence shampoo and conditioner and no styling product.

Whoa.  I wonder if there was a reaction with hair products on her hair.  I have experienced that.

Maybe someone else can give some insight.

New client came in for full foil highlights. Wanted nice strawberry blonde highlights. Natural hair level 6. Long hair fine texture, straight. Used elc with 40 vol and pastel tones. Color swelled in packets the most I have ever seen. Had to pull the back before I was even done with the front. Disaster. No well water, does have lupus and has been on a medication that is an anti milaria med. Has anyone heard of this?
